How many floor tiles do I need for my project?
The number of tiles required depends on the usable size of each tile, not on the area in square metres alone. Measure the length and width of the area. Divide the area's length by the tile's usable length, then divide its width by the tile's usable width. Round both results up to the next whole number and multiply them. For an area measuring 5.2 m by 4 m and tiles with a usable size of 50 × 50 cm, the calculation is 11 × 8, giving 88 tiles. Use the usable size stated in the data sheet, not the shipping size.
Allow a few additional tiles for edge cuts, offcuts and future repairs. For angled, irregular or curved areas, prepare a scale drawing to estimate the cuts and plan the laying pattern.
