How do I calculate the number of tiles I need?
The number of tiles required depends on the size of the area and the usable dimensions of the selected tile. Base the calculation on the usable dimensions stated in the product data sheet, not on the larger shipping dimensions. Allow for the production tolerances and raw ingredient variations associated with tiles made from PU-bound rubber granules.
For a rectangular area, divide its length and width in cm by the corresponding usable dimensions of the tile. Round each result up to the next whole number, then multiply the two figures.
For example, an area measuring 940 x 300 cm requires 19 tiles along its length when the usable tile dimensions are 50 x 50 cm. This is calculated by dividing 940 by 50 and rounding up. Across the width, 6 tiles are needed. The total is therefore 114 tiles, covering approximately 28.5 m2.
For irregular areas, including trapezoidal or triangular spaces and areas with curved edges, prepare a scaled laying plan. Draw the area on graph or millimetre paper at a scale of 1:100, where 1 cm represents 1 m. This helps you plan the laying pattern and cutting allowance before ordering.
