Patio cost per square metre for a 20x20 patio?
A patio costs between €30 and €500 or CHF 30 and CHF 500 per square metre, depending on the material, substrate and installation. This wide range reflects the fact that the complete patio construction, rather than the surface covering alone, must be considered.
Gravel or chippings are at the lower end of the price range. Installation costs are not the only consideration: maintenance requirements, service life and comfort in use also matter. Timber requires regular maintenance, while WPC needs less maintenance than timber but heats up noticeably and expands in strong sunlight.
