What flooring is suitable for gratings?
Tiles made from rubber granules are suitable as a floor covering for walkable gratings. Gratings are often found on balconies, stairs, bridges or platforms. Walkable gratings in particular present challenges in terms of noise and open floor space.
The choice of the optimum tile flooring depends primarily on the mesh size of the grating and the expected load on the surface. As the mesh size and load increase, the thickness of the rubber granule tiles should also increase to ensure a stable and even surface. It is also important that the underside of the tiles is not too textured to ensure a stable surface.
A major advantage of WARCO floor coverings is that they can be laid directly onto the grating without extensive preparation. It is important that the flooring is not bolted to the grating, but laid, clamped or glued to suit the local conditions.
WARCO flooring offers significant impact sound absorption, effective thermal insulation and a high level of slip resistance. Rainwater is quickly and evenly absorbed by the rubber granulate tiles, seeps away and drains away. This prevents the formation of puddles and increases the usability of the area.
