How do I install a new rubber tile covering on concrete paving or concrete slabs?
A new rubber tile covering can usually be installed directly on an existing surface of concrete paving or concrete slabs without any additional preparation. For areas exposed to weather or frequent water contact (e.g. car washes, stables, greenhouses), a slope of 1 to 2% is required to ensure effective drainage, ensuring that water does not remain pooled. The existing surface must be uniformly level and free from disruptive irregularities – sunken or uneven paving stones or concrete slabs are unsuitable as a base. If the conditions for direct installation are not met, a decision must be made whether to repair the damaged areas or completely remove the old surface. In the latter case, the new covering can possibly be laid on the existing base layer.
