Frequently asked questions

How do I install a new covering on natural stone slabs or natural stone paving?

WARCO tiles can generally be installed directly on an existing surface of natural stone slabs or natural stone paving without any additional subfloor preparation. This is particularly true for split, sawn, or polished stones such as marble, granite, sandstone, travertine, slate, or bluestone that typically offer a largely even surface. Installation is also possible on natural stone surfaces with irregular textures—for example, rounded paving stones after leveling out the unevenness. Areas exposed to weather, natural rainfall, or constant moisture (e.g. car washes, stables, greenhouses) must have a slope of 1 to 2% to ensure effective drainage or percolation so that no puddles form. If the conditions for direct installation are not met, a decision must be made as to whether the damaged areas should be repaired or the old surface completely removed; in the latter case, the new covering may be installed on the existing base layer.
