How do I lay rubber tiles on concrete, asphalt or tiled floors?
On concrete, screed, asphalt and tiled surfaces, WARCO rubber tiles and rubber mats made from PU-bound rubber granules are laid loose and directly onto the existing surface. This surface serves as the substrate, so no additional sub-base or build-up is required.
Before laying, the substrate must be checked to ensure it is sound, firm, clean, level and free from oil. All loose matter must be removed. Significant unevenness and abrupt changes in level must be made good beforehand so the elastic tiles lie flat over their full area and no edges are left proud.
Outdoors and in areas regularly exposed to water, such as indoor pool areas, wash bays and horse stables, the substrate must have a fall of 1 to 2% towards a drain or an area where water can soak away. With water-permeable rubber tiles, water passes through the covering and then runs across the substrate in the direction of the fall. With impermeable tiles, it flows over the covering to the drain. Water does not harm the tiles. No fall is required in dry indoor or covered areas where water cannot enter.
Once these conditions have been met, the tiles are laid by hand and tightly butted together until the entire area is covered.
