The WARCO Rubber Kerb is an elastic edging for paths, play areas, sports facilities and other outdoor surfaces. It is permanently set in a concrete foundation with a rear support and provides a clean, safe and clearly defined boundary between adjacent areas. The non-slip, shock-absorbing surface creates a comfortable contact edge – safe underfoot and in the event of a fall.
Dimensions and structure
Each kerb element measures 100 × 25 × 5 cm. Made from PU-bound ELT rubber granulate (ELT = End-of-Life Tyres), it combines elasticity, weather resistance and long service life. The open-pored surface offers reliable wet-grip and a slight underfoot resilience. The side faces feature a contoured profile that keys securely into the surrounding concrete during installation.
Installation and alignment
A frost-resistant sub-base of gravel or crushed stone is prepared, followed by the concrete foundation along the required layout. The Rubber Kerb is aligned and embedded into the fresh concrete. Plastic dowels act as installation aids, keeping elements accurately in line and simplifying precise positioning for both straight runs and curves. The rear support is then cast in concrete to complete the permanent set-up.
Properties and applications
Rubber Kerb is suitable for edging walkways, running tracks, sports fields, beach volleyball courts, playgrounds, planting beds and courtyard areas. Its elastic structure absorbs impacts and helps reduce injury risk, creating a safe, user-friendly edge wherever people walk, run or play.
Durability and maintenance
Resistant to frost, moisture and UV exposure, the PU-bound ELT rubber granulate requires no maintenance and is easily cleaned by rain or rinsing. The kerb remains functional and visually neat for many years under outdoor conditions.
