What is the difference between usable size (format) and shipping dimensions (size)?

The difference between usable size (format) and shipping dimensions (size) is that usable size is used to calculate material requirements, whereas shipping dimensions are relevant for dispatch. Rubber tiles with an installation system are interlocked by means of their puzzle-shaped edges.

Usable size, also called format, states the area covered by an installed rubber tile. Only the usable size is used when calculating requirements: a tile with a usable size of 50 × 50 cm covers 0.25 m² once laid as part of an interconnected surface.

Shipping dimensions, also called size, state the maximum length, width and height of the rubber tile. These dimensions are relevant for shipping.

For rubber tiles made from PU-bound rubber granules, the stated length and width are subject to a tolerance of ± 2 %. The actual dimensions may be up to 2 % larger or smaller in each direction. These values apply to new, dry rubber tiles at approximately 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity.
