What is a stone carpet click tile for balconies and terraces?

WARCO supplies prefabricated interlocking tiles for balconies and terraces. They are made from PU-bound rubber granules with an EPDM wearing layer. Once laid, each tile covers 28.9 × 28.9 cm and is 1.8 cm thick; including the interlocking projections, it measures 31.5 × 31.5 cm. The coloured EPDM wearing layer sits on a base of recycled tyre rubber granules (ELT). The EPDM granules are through-coloured. Nine shades are available, ranging from Dark Grey Granite through Travertine to Rattan Lounge. Travertine is mottled beige with dark flecks.

On a firm substrate, the tiles are laid loose without mortar or adhesive (dry-laid). On a balcony, they fit between the wall and the balustrade. Because they are neither glued nor screwed down, individual tiles can be lifted at any time. The tiles are calibrated and cut without chamfered edges. Their rounded jigsaw interlock creates an almost seamless surface that is water-permeable throughout and frost-proof. Their 1.8 cm thickness also allows them to fit beneath low door thresholds.

At the perimeter, the tiles are cut to size. Each edge strip must retain an interlocking edge so it can click into the last full row. Because each tile has interlocking edges on two opposite sides, it provides two usable edge strips for the click-together surface.
