Gym Flooring Compact Type GZ is thin indoor flooring made from rubber tiles. The tightly compressed tiles have a finely textured, virtually closed surface. They are resilient underfoot but provide only limited cushioning. The flooring is highly abrasion-resistant. The jigsaw interlock is cut without a bevel, so only a barely visible hairline joint remains between the tiles. This creates a neat, uniform surface that is easy to clean.

Where can Gym Flooring Compact be used?

Gym Flooring Compact suits areas where a resilient, easy-to-clean surface matters more than a high level of cushioning. Typical uses include cardio areas with treadmills, exercise bikes and cross trainers. It also suits studios used for group exercise or Pilates and home gyms set up in guest rooms. The flooring can also be used in studio changing rooms and entrance areas.

What is Gym Flooring Compact made from?

Gym Flooring Compact is made from fine ELT granules, which are rubber granules made from recycled end-of-life tyres and bonded with polyurethane. The tiles are pressed under high pressure. This gives them their high abrasion resistance. New tiles may smell of rubber at first. With good ventilation, the smell fades over time.

How is Gym Flooring Compact installed?

Gym Flooring Compact is laid without adhesive on a sound, level subfloor, such as screed, tiles or parquet. The tiles are pressed into one another from above. The jigsaw interlock holds them firmly together. Each area is laid with tiles of the same size because only equal-sized tiles interlock. Edge tiles are cut to size with a circular saw or jigsaw. If you move, the tiles can be lifted and relaid.

How easy is Gym Flooring Compact to clean?

Gym Flooring Compact absorbs very little moisture and dirt. A vacuum cleaner, broom or damp mop is sufficient for daily cleaning. The material is resistant to disinfectants. The surface can therefore be disinfected when needed.

How do I calculate the number of tiles needed for my area?

The number of tiles required for an irregular area can be calculated manually or determined using the digital laying planner.

For irregular areas, a scaled laying plan on graph paper is recommended. For the manual calculation method, draw the area on graph paper at a scale of 1:100, where 1 cm corresponds to 1 m. Place the tile grid over the drawing and draw the tiles within the area according to their laying dimensions. The drawing shows where offcuts will be required and allows the required number of tiles to be counted.

The online laying planner determines the quantity required more quickly than the manual calculation method. It is available for every product in the online shop. Once the area dimensions have been entered, the tool automatically calculates the number of tiles required and displays a suitable laying pattern. On the product page, simply click ‘Plan installation’. The planner works directly in the browser, is free of charge and does not require registration.

Can I lay WARCO rubber tiles myself?

Installation of many WARCO rubber tiles can be carried out without a specialist contractor.

WARCO rubber tiles can be used as flooring for patios and balconies, as fitness flooring and as playground safety surfacing. This requires the product, substrate and build-up to be appropriate for the intended application.

The tiles are loose-laid. Depending on the range, they are joined using a puzzle-style interlock or plastic connectors.

Preparation of the substrate and any necessary edge cutting can be managed with practical DIY skills.
