Squats in the rack, treadmill intervals and box jumps in a circuit all put the floor under strain. Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring is made from rubber granules bonded with polyurethane and designed for gyms, CrossFit boxes and home gyms. The fitness tiles with bevelled edges are the affordable entry point to the Fitness Performance range.

What does this gym flooring feel like underfoot?

Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring feels comfortably resilient underfoot while providing a stable base for every exercise. The surface provides good grip for lunges, burpees and press-ups. The flooring noticeably cushions footsteps, jumps and weights as they are set down. This benefits training partners, housemates and neighbours. The tiles also protect screed, floor tiles and parquet from scratches and dents caused by equipment, kettlebells and weight plates.

What training is this gym flooring suitable for?

Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring is suitable for both free weights and cardio areas. The tiles are also made for CrossFit, HYROX and boxing training. Racks and cardio equipment can stand directly on the tiles. The thickest version is the best choice if heavy weights are regularly set down.

How durable and easy to clean are the tiles?

Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring is affordable but has the quality of professional gym flooring. With a density of 1,000 kg/m³, the compact tiles are designed for daily gym use. Each tile is pressed from fine rubber granules bonded with polyurethane. Every edge is bevelled during moulding. The surface is abrasion-resistant and withstands intensive training. Cleaning only requires a vacuum cleaner, broom or mop. A floor-cleaning machine can also be used in a gym. New tiles may initially smell of rubber. The smell fades after a short time.

How is this gym flooring laid?

Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring is loose-laid in a random staggered pattern with irregularly offset joints. The subfloor must remain load-bearing and stable and be largely level. Suitable subfloors include screed, concrete and tiles. The bevelled edges leave the joints visible. The tiles can be fixed to the subfloor with double-sided carpet tape if required. The tape can be removed later. Edge tiles are cut with a circular saw or jigsaw.

How can the cushioning be increased?

Fitness Performance Basic Rubber Gym Flooring can be combined with Type XX base layer tiles to create a multi-layer floor. The base layer tiles are placed under the gym flooring. This build-up allows impact sound insulation and shock absorption to be tailored to each training zone, from the deadlift area to the stretching corner.
