What temperature is suitable for laying rubber tiles outdoors?
Rubber tiles are best laid outdoors under overcast skies, at air temperatures of around 5 to 17 °C, and never in direct sunlight. When tiles made from rubber granules heat up, they expand. As they cool, they contract again, which can cause the joints to open.
The tiles and sub-base should remain at as consistent a temperature as possible throughout the work, with no marked rise or fall. The rubber tiles should therefore be stored at the installation site before work begins, and the whole area should then be laid promptly.
