Are walkway tiles glued or screwed down during installation?

Walkway tiles made from PU-bound rubber granules are not glued or screwed to the substrate during installation; they form a floating layer. The substrate must be level, load-bearing and adequately drained.

Depending on the tile system, the walkway tiles fit together using puzzle-style interlocking edges or are held together by plastic connectors. An edge restraint provides additional lateral support to the tiled area. For small perimeter cuts, bonding to adjacent tiles provides stability.

Only in exceptional cases are the tile end faces bonded to one another, for example in publicly accessible areas with an increased risk of vandalism or theft.
