What should you do if a gutter is dripping?

A dripping gutter usually indicates cracks, pitting corrosion or leaking joints. Before carrying out any repairs, the damaged area should be located precisely. On zinc gutters, corrosion often appears on the underside, while plastic gutters commonly develop cracks around the joints.

If the damage is extensive or sections of the gutter have rusted through completely, it is advisable to consider whether replacing the affected gutter sections would be more economical than carrying out a repair.
