How much ALLESDICHT is needed per square metre?

The required quantity is determined by the dry film thickness. Allow approximately 1.6 kg/m² of fresh coating for each millimetre of dry film thickness. The minimum dry film thickness is 2 mm, requiring around 3.3 kg/m². This is the lower limit for a continuous coating and does not apply to structural waterproofing carried out in accordance with the German building authority test certificate.

The stated coverage of each pack size is also based on a dry film thickness of 2 mm. A 3 kg tub covers around 0.9 m², an 11 kg tub around 3.3 m² and a 25 kg tub around 7.6 m².

For waterproofing in accordance with the German building authority test certificate, a minimum dry film thickness of 3 mm or 4 mm is required, depending on the water exposure to which the building element is subject. At 3 mm, around 4.8 kg/m² is needed, at 4 mm around 6.4 kg/m². A 25 kg tub then covers around 5.2 m² and 3.9 m² respectively. At these thicknesses, the rubber coating bridges cracks up to 0.5 mm.

Wet film thickness and dry film thickness are not the same, and this distinction matters when calculating the quantity required. When applied, ALLESDICHT contains water that evaporates during drying, reducing the film thickness by around one third. A wet film thickness of 1.5 mm produces roughly 1 mm of dry film. As no more than 1.5 mm may be applied wet in one working pass, at least three passes are needed for 3 mm of dry film and at least four for 4 mm.

The consumption figures given apply to level, closed surfaces. Roughness, pores, fillets, wall junctions, pipe penetrations and reinforcing fabric increase the quantity required, because additional coats are applied by hand in these areas. This additional requirement should be included in the quantity calculation alongside the basic surface area.
